Mary-Ann Kennedy
With a background in community arts and educational publishing I moved from a commercial studio in London, to a Lecture appointment in Edinburgh, to work on the ongoing establishment and development of Scotland’s first BA Photographic Studies Degree at Napier.
As a founding member of Photography Workshop (Edinburgh)/Portfolio Gallery I coordinated the educational bookshop, developed and taught workshops, assisted conferences, installed exhibitions and supported the to-be-international publication Portfolio.
My interest in, and commitment to, visual literacy and the politics of representation remains. Miss Happiness and Miss Flower is part of an on-going series addressing the promises of Modernity and the failures of the American Dream.
