Caroline Douglas

Caroline Douglas is a photographic artist based between Edinburgh and London.

She studied Photography at Edinburgh College of Art (2006) and received a Master in Fine Art at The Glasgow School of Art (2010). Her residencies include; Re:Create Stills Gallery, Edinburgh (2008), School of the Art Institute Chicago (2009), AiR Fondazione Fotografia, Modena (2010) and Proekt Fabrika, Moscow (2011). She will be Visiting Scholar at the University of St Andrews (2017).

Caroline was the recipient of the 9th Helen Keller International Award for Playboy Entertainment for Men (2011). In 2013, she worked with the Scottish National Portrait Gallery for An Attendant's Portrait. She has been represented by Stills Gallery at Edinburgh Art Fair and her work Zero Hours Creativity has been published in Uncertain States (2015). In 2016 she received a Magenta Foundation Flash Forward Award.

Selected exhibitions include; Galerie Huit, Arles (2011, 2012), Stills Gallery (2012), Columbia University, New York (2012), Brighton Photo Fringe (2014, 2016), Format Festival (2015), PHOTOUKINDIA, New Delhi (2015), The Magenta Foundation (2016).

Caroline is a tutor and lecturer in Photography (Edinburgh College of Art and Edinburgh Napier University).
